And still no Windows 7, 8/8.1 compatibility support, Damn it Empress…-_-
You made one for other games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Anno, etc.
But you didn’t make one for Resident Evil Village? WHY?
If you are still running Windows 7 or 8 in 2021, don’t wait for a cracker to magically release a fix from an operating system that was discontinued over a year ago.
Update your Operating System to 10, What is the big issue?
@don Let me tell you what the issue is… Firstly, I do WAY more than just play games on this computer, so it’s full of tools that do all sorts of things. To upgrade to Windows 10 would require, I’d say about a month worth of re-installations and configuration. Secondly, it’s part of a Domain, so that would also need sorting out, re-adding it, DNS configuration etc. Thirdly and most importantly are the security problems that Windows 10 brings to the table, which no-body seems to pay ANY sort of attention to. What I mean by this is things like, security principles such as the S-1-5-x-x registry keys, which means you’re NEVER a full Administrator on a Windows 10 machine, unlike how you could be on Windows 7. It’s almost IMPOSSIBLE to get the privilege of say, the TRUSTED_INSTALLER for example. Then there’s the drivers that are installed, for things like the AntiMalware, Firewall Service and others that prevent you from modifying the registry keys that you want to. To remove stuff like this, you basically have to boot from another media source because they’re drivers and loaded at start-up. I could go ON and ON and ON about SO many other internal things about Windows 10 that most people have NO idea has happened. So, for people like me who actually NEED to do these kind of things, moving to Windows 10 is a MONUMENTAL undertaking and would take MONTHS of both software configuration and Windows configuration to fix these issues to the point that I could actually control and change what I need to. Then there’s support for things like Virtual Drives which you don’t get with Windows 10 and Daemon Tools works like a piece of shit with. Okay, you can mount .iso images, but let’s see you mount a .bin/cue. And bin/cue *IS* important as it stores WAY more information about the geometry of a CD than simply the data it contains, like an .iso does.
Okay, so what am I getting of benefit with Windows 10 eh? Ah yes, DirectX 12, which may or may not be faster than DirectX 11 depending on what title you happen to be playing. Fine, so they’ve optimised the draw pipelines, but that doesn’t always translate into real-world better performance. A disjointed configuration system where half the stuff is buried in the Settings and half still in the Control Panel. A Windows Store that I don’t want and Cortana built in, which okay, you can disable, but then you lose your search ability. You know, I could go on forever about why Windows 10 is nearly all bad because with what I do for a living I really DO know about this stuff. Yeah, I know I’m going to be forced into upgrading, but Windows 10 doesn’t bring benefits to me, it bring time consuming problems. So before you slam other people for still using Windows 7, think a little about how someone might be using their computer.
my game stopped working after this, giving error not enough space 21mb
