1.05 white screen. Downgrading back to 1.04.
Yes, update make the game white screen
Game works perfectly fine with the update – RTX 3080TI
Upgrade 1.05 not working…..
I’m back for 1.04.1
Here’s how I fixed white screen problem:
* If you’ve played with AntiCheat disabled (using mods) before updating, run toggle_anti_cheat.exe once to return your files to normal before installing the update
* let the update install itself into a separate folder from your main game folder
* check out in the update folder which files the update will overwrite, make a backup of all of them from your game folder in case something goes wrong
* run the update installer again, this time let it install into your Elden Ring folder. Let it check for corrupted files when it’s done
* now open the game like this once before toggling AntiCheat off again
Worked for me, game loads with no whitescreen, only major downside is it won’t accept my old pre-update save files anymore so I’m still going back to 1.04.1 for now
Found a way to play with my old savegame on 1.05 now.
When the installers tells you that steam_api64.dll or steamclient64.dll is read-only, do not select to overwrite, select skip. Let it install everything else but keep the old version of these files, even if it tells you one of them is corrupted.
And again, always backup you stuff, saved me hours of re-downloading
