First install Winrar v5+. Offical download site v5.61 –> https://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Please perform the following steps.
1- File explorer > View > Activate the “File name extensions” box. —> https://imgur.com/a/72KfnHl
2- Extract the “sg2240-MEEX.part01 -or- sg2241-MEEX-500MB.part01” – Right Click > Extract Here (after extract)
3- Extract the “cpy-me.r00” – Right Click > Extract Here
Now you can install the game with the .iso file.

Crash Fix
PC games are not strangers to crashes and Metro Exodus is no exception. Here are a few things you can try to fix Metro Exodus crashes.
For some players Metro Exodus in crashing die to DirectX 12. If you have enabled the DirectX 12 option from the menu, revert it to DirectX 11 and the game won’t crash.
If DirectX is not the issue then outdated GPU driver might be the problem. Download and install the latest drivers for your GPU and also turn off any third-party monitoring tools like MSI Afterburner.

**** (Running GTX 1070 / DX12) Game froze on me too when monsters in tunnel had me pinned down. Went back in settings and turned one or two graphic settings a step lower. Next time it ran smooth and hasnt froze again in over 3 plus hours of gameplay. You can also try underclocking your GPU just a little. I remember when I had a 580 I had to do that a few times on the newest games with a dated card and games never crashed or froze again. Just something to try when everything else doesn’t work and you are ready to delete it from your SSD and wait till skid releases the next epic game. *****
