Don’t bother with Omori, even for free it’s still a weebo’s scam that will make you waste your precious time with stupid dialogues (yeah yeah, “surreal” I’m sorry) and cheap horror, that game’s Kickstarter was in 2014 and the game was supposed to be almost done already back then.
And it’s typical surreal BS to cover for the lack of real substance, same thing for the art: “look at me I can’t draw but it’s on purpose I’m so aware of it you just don’t get it, it’s surreal”!
Yet another Undertale wannabe, just a better than average one, except it’s twice UT price and it comes 5 years after it.
The project’s creator (omocat) took the KS money to invest in her (weebo)clothes company, and she gave some funds to people from the RPG MAKER community to make a game 6 years after the est-delivery-date. Amazing story here, a total PR disaster too.
Give me a break, there’s nothing new here, it’s pure exploitation and marketing. The director of that game is despicable by the way, all about money money money trying to get featured with big names to help the reach of her stuff, she even tried dumb move like drawing Nicky Minaj and sent it to her IG hoping for some free advertisement. But yeah, unfortunately even if that one didn’t work, some other moves did work. The game isn’t bad though, it’s just your average Earthbound clone thinking it’s super artsy and surreal when it’s just yet another one using dreams as a good excuse to make random stuff look super smart.
The super positive review on Steam are just from the suuuuper cringy fanbase, weebos dealing with mental weakness and defending pretty much anything Earthbound related. Usually, you can do the math with Steam to estimate sales according to the number of reviews (a simple multiplication) but here it wouldn’t work since almost every stoooopid “fan” will leave a positive review to help the game. They’re beyond any help and will take refuge in that kind of game with the same cookie cutter “evil figure” aka “black shape with some white on it” like Gaster or Uboa, “omg it’s so creepy because the overall tone of the game is cute you know”.
