Discover a dark mystery only a medium can solve. Explore the real world and the spirit world at the same time. Use your psychic abilities to solve puzzles spanning both worlds, uncover deeply disturbing secrets, and survive encounters with The Maw – a monster born from an unspeakable tragedy..
The Medium is a third-person psychological horror game that features patented dual-reality gameplay and an original soundtrack co-composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka.
Wield unique psychic abilities reserved for those with the gift. Travel between the realities or explore them both at the very same time. Use the Out of Body experience to investigate places where your real-world self can’t go. Create energy shields and deliver powerful spirit blasts to survive the spirit world and its otherworldly dangers.
Delve deep into a mature and morally ambiguous story, where nothing is what it seems and everything has another side. As a medium you see, hear and experience more than others, and with every new perspective you will change your perception on what happened at the Niwa resort.
Never-seen-before and officially patented gameplay that plays out across two worlds displayed at the same time. Explore the physical world and the spirit world simultaneously, and use the interactions between them to solve dual-reality puzzles, unlock new paths, and awaken memories of past events.
The Medium’s spirit world is a dark mirror reflection of our reality, a grim and unsettling place where our unpunished deeds, evil urges, and vile secrets manifest themselves and can take on a form. This world has been invented and designed under the inspiration of Zdzisław Beksiński’s paintings, Polish dystopian surrealist internationally recognized for his distinctive and strikingly ominous style.
Immerse yourself in the disturbing and oppressive atmosphere of the game thanks to the original ‘dual’ soundtrack co-created by Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski. Yamaoka-san is a legendary Japanese composer best known for his work on the Silent Hill series; Reikowski is a Hollywood Music in Media Awards nominee who worked on such acclaimed horror games as Blair Witch, Layers of Fear, and Observer. Now they join their creative forces for the music and songs of The Medium.

You guys unfucking believable
Seed please 😀

you need NASA PC to play this smoothly…
@natten,
Your comment is the best one I have seen today in regards to both the minimum requirements and recommended requirements for the game.
Yes, it is true that you do need to have, somewhat of a high-end card in your PC gaming rig, or PC gaming laptop.
For the Minimum System Requirements for GPU or Graphics Card that you would need to play the game:
Graphics:
@1080p NVIDIA GEFORCE® GTX 1650 Super or GTX 1060 / Radeon™ R9 390X
For the Recommended System Requirements for GPU or Graphics Card that you would need to play the game:
@1080p NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1660 Super / Radeon™ RX 5600XT | @4K NVIDIA GeForce® RTX 2080 or RTX 3060 Ti / Radeon™ RX 6800
If you are still interested in seeing how this game’s mechanics look and play, as well as the unique transitions between the main character Marianne’s out-of-body experiences and supernatural powers she possesses during certain events in the game and during game play, you can watch some high quality game play walkthroughs on YouTube.
Starting with the first part of The Medium, and ending at the fifth part of the complete game play with no commentary at 4K resolution and 60 fps, you can pretty much watch the entire game right here on this YouTube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-01naUAsL94
Then later, if you decide to get an Xbox series X console, or in the not too distant future, you can afford to Upgrade your PC gaming rig with a better Graphics Card that will support the game, you can feel free to do that if you like.
thanks for crack . where is directx 12 option ? the Ray tracing option doesnt appear in my rtx 3090 !
You can afford to buy an RTX 3090 yet still pirate games lol
Many many people dont do piracy because they cant afford it. Other smart people just do it because they are not ok with the videogaming industry these days. My case, for example. Im not going to waste a single dime anymore on a videogame. Not until i see that companies do things right, and that the gaming market wakes up. And that companies like nvidia or microsoft DO SOMETHING about all the graphic problems we have these days in any videogame. For me, its not about money, im jus tired of being scammed all the time. Im smarter than that. The videogaming industry these days is completely broken, and unfortunately people dont realize it. Of course im talking about the stupid dumb gamers of this generation.
@George,
If you are tired of being scammed all the time by gaming industries (as you so amusingly put it into your own words), then why don’t you go ahead and enlighten us all with how you think “You” in particular are being scammed.
I think I like this comment the best in your post:
” And that companies like nvidia or microsoft DO SOMETHING about all the graphic problems we have these days in any videogame. For me, its not about money, im jus tired of being scammed all the time. Im smarter than that. The videogaming industry these days is completely broken, and unfortunately people dont realize it. Of course im talking about the stupid dumb gamers of this generation. ”
I’m not sure why you are in the belief that it’s both NVIDIA’s fault and Microsoft’s when it comes to all the graphic problems you have experienced in any of the video games you have played.
Again, you don’t speak for everyone’s gaming experiences. There are ways to get around graphic card issues, and there are things like driver updates, as well as game patches and game related fixes that some game developers put out to address some issues within a game.
Surprisingly, your short-sightedness does not allow you to see clearly past your own views on this subject, so you continue to stick to what you believe by blaming someone else for whatever current issues you happen to be having with your own gaming experience.
Furthermore, if you are as smart as you claim to be, and if money really isn’t an issue for you, then instead of sounding like a braggart, why not utilize that brain power of yours.
Learn about game design, game programming, and software development. Start up a game design and development studio of your own, hire on some top talent to come work for you, and make the kind of Epic games you think people would enjoy playing.
Then… once you have achieved all of those things, feel free to shoot your mouth off all you like, to whomever you like.
I wonder if developers test their games anymore. One of the worst optimization works ive ever seen in my life. The game doesnt even have quality enough to ask for a 1050 and yet it runs badly no matter what card do you have. Every day, after day, gaming industry going backwards instead evolving.
They’re testing their games using NASA PC. Devs don’t care about low-spec gamer (like me), since most of them are pirates who don’t have money to buy games, or even buy a high-end PC. In my opinion, gaming industry is indeed evolving, but only for those who have high-end PC.
better download this version than gog, coz codex will upload update only if there update realase, in gog version u need download entire new game version if update realease
@sihenk,
Your comment about having to download a GOG game all over again just to get a new updated version is completely off. You do not need to do that at all. Not even with The Medium.
As an example, do a search on this site for Cyberpunk 2077, as you will see yourself immediately that there is no need to download the entire game again, because updates for the GOG version are here and are already available for it. Again, no need to download the entire game, just get the update you need for the GOG version, and you are good to go.
Even when you buy games officially from GOG, it does not require you to download the entire game again, only the update for the game is needed to bring your game up to the latest version build number for the game you have in your library of games.
So your comment about GOG games, and your lack of understanding about how updates for GOG games actually work, make no sense at all.
hey guys I download codex version o game . where is ray tracing in display option in game ?! I cant find it ?! I have 2080TI
ray tracing missing in the game setting I cant find it ?!
@SAM
My friend,
To show the Raytracing options/features you have to start under DX12 Library, to do that just add -dx12 on the desktop shortcut of the game.
ZAORANE.
ray tracing option not found ??? where it is ??
To use Raytracing just start the game with DX12 Library support.
Add -dx12 on the desktop shortcut of the game.
this game doesnt have ray tracing option . i think this files fo dx11 version
i found how to enable dx12 and raytracing
make a shortcut to the exe
in target add this
-dx12″
Why in hell do you want raytracing??? oh god these braindead players… raytracing is completely awful and a long time is going to pass before raytracing is actually interesting to use. FIRST THEY NEED TO FIX ALL THE SHADOW PROBLEMS that every single videogame have these days. I wish people had brains, seriously. Sadly most of you did born yesterday, and companies like nvidia enjoy a lot to scam new gamers. Anyways, thank to people like you the videogaming industry these days is completely broken, so thanks.
@Charly,
Hello again George, do you enjoy going under the guise of using different names as a Guest?
It’s actually becoming common practice for you isn’t it, to avoid being detected. What with the similarity of the ‘choice words’ that you happen to use in the previous posts you’ve made here.
Anyone with a keen eye could detect it.
I suppose next you are going to go completely Anon, or Anonimous (as you would spell it, except it isn’t spelled that way). Kind of like how you also spell Garbaje to describe something you don’t like (except it isn’t spelled that way either).
Oh George, you are really something else, I’ll give you that.
i recently played this game,so far i’ve reached the hospital checkpoint and tbh this game is a boring game. storyline is happening too fast and unclear why the protagonist is there or why she care so much and most of the gameplay you just run and pick up energy stuff.
@Mendokusai_11,
Fellow Member of the site, if you happen to play the game further, you might discover that the main protagonist of the site, Marianne, is not the only gifted “Medium” you are able to control.
Without ruining too much of the game, you do get to play as another character, a male Medium, named Thomas during certain developing events of the game, as your main female protagonist ventures further as her own story begins to unfold.
Some of the elements of the game lie in fragments of broken memories that are pieced together in either the spirits you encounter and set free throughout the game, or are found in certain locales and areas, when your “main” character shifts between realities, between the spirit world, and that of the living, to collect certain items to progress the story along, or pages of notes and other collectible items to move the story forward.
I think that perhaps you are not giving this game enough time to reveal it’s story to you, and maybe you are expecting things to unfold too quickly.
It may seem like a slow burn in the beginning, but you might find a difference of opinion if you play further to the point of completion.
@tekmarvl no i still hold my opinion about this game being boring, i guess it’s not what i expected it to be,i mught as well addressing my reason even further. So despite that Marianne is a medium,she have no other way to defend herself without absorbing energy light and lead the player to no other choice than to hide or run and i can see the dev is more focusing on the plot rather than the gameplay for someone who play stealth game alot i think this is probably the worse i played so far and it have minimal use of sprint make some players feeling frustrated,the game has no camera control just like game called “Fatal Frame” knocked me back in Ps1&Ps2 era althought fatal frame is a classic game it hold understandable storyline and not so confusing as “the medium”, and for the game progress as you said “slow burn” baffled me even more at the end of the story,i’m guessing you already know why even the Dev themselves doesn’t make it clear what’s happening after the gunshot but give us another sequel which probably will be in a long time…
@Mendokusai_11,
I agree with some of the valid points you’ve made in your comments about the game. There are a lot of mixed feelings towards the Medium, and a lot of them stem from either the poor and fixed camera, right down to the confusing story line (or lack of much of a developing story that leaves some things unanswered in the game, or the possibility of a sequel), and then there is the issue of poor game optimization.
However, given for what it is, I did find the mechanics of the game to be somewhat interesting, with the dual split screen events, and the shifting ability between the real world and the spirit world you could do with both Marianne and Thomas at certain points in the game.
I have to admit I too I was expecting more from this game, and it’s seems that that Devs rushed this one out to soon, as I feel it could have been more fleshed out, better optimized, and not every gamer is used to the fixed camera (although I did not mind it too much, as I am used to that sort of thing, so it wasn’t a bother for me).
As for Marianne’s and Thomas’s abilities, well I’m not sure what more the Devs could have added that would have made it look more appealing. It’s not like they were thinking about adding lasers that could shoot of the characters eyes, or lightning bolts shooting out of their fingers tips, or using something like psychic mind-blasts (like Jean Grey from the X-Men), or setting enemies on fire with just a simple thought like some pyrokinetic firestarter (although that would be kind of cool to have those kinds of powers in a video game though).
Anyways, yeah… I do agree with you on some points of the game, and yes it could have used a lot of improvement in certain areas, but the thing for me that got me interested in the game was the unique mechanics of it that I mentioned above, so all in all, there are some good points as well as some bad points too about The Medium. It’s really a mixed bag with gamers.
another touchdown from CODEX thank you!!
tried this game and the camera is very bad! It is fixed camera like first horror games of 90s! unacceptable for a modern game. It ruins all the atmosphere and beauty of the game. Also the graphics is not so good, just generic and mediocre. But the game is very demanding, with my rtx3080 I can barely get 60 fps even at 1080p!
Does this also include the DLC or just base game?
@yogitama10,
If you are looking for both the Artbook and the OST (Original Soundtrack) for The Medium, I can help you out with that.
You are not likely to find those two DLCs with the CODEX release unless it is specifically mentioned within the notes of their own NFO.
You will find that better with the GOG release.
As a Member of this site yourself, you can click on my Username, to send me a PM to request the DLC content that I mentioned above.
That’s tekmarvl, there is no letter “i” at the end of my Username as some people mistaken it for. It’s actually the letter L, and is pronounced Tek Marvel.
Thank you!
Hi skidrow can you put a mod for this game to unlock the free movement of camera? It’s so sad and depressing the fixed camera. It makes the game so shitty
@Keyes Dentar,
Aside from some game trainers that some Scene Release groups have personally released for some select games that have appeared on this site, skidrowcodex.net does not serve any game mods here.
Some places you could check to look for game mods, at least two well known ones that I know of are the following:
https://www.nexusmods.com
-and-
https://www.dsogaming.com
Given the fact that this game is still fairly new and was only released back on January 28, 2021, don’t expect any mods for this game to be released any time too soon.
Give it time. I would say at least till the mid-week of February 2021, to see any mods for this game start to pop up from Game Modders.
Keep checking back on those two sites I mentioned above, especially Nexxus Mods, (as something new turns up from day to day, given the popularity of some games there), as well as the possibility of the game even being moddable in the first place, which is something else that a lot of Game Modders have to look at.
looking forward to this game thanks
Have update day 1??
::: THE MEDIUM ::: SOMETHING EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW AND CONSIDER BEFORE PLAYING :::
Something that everyone should know and consider before playing the game, is that before the current release update of version 1.0.157 released on January 25, 2021, the game appeared to be more stable with FPS (Frames Per Second) with it’s prior patch that was released on January 23, 2021.
It seems that with the current patch version of 1.0.157, FPS for some gamers may take a dramatic hit, despite what your in-game settings are set to, or what brand of CPU and GPU you are using in your PC gaming rigs, you could be getting a hit of only 41 to 58 FPS, according to this article review from dsogaming.com, which I think everyone should read at:
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-medium-gets-a-new-update-that-completely-destroys-its-in-game-performance/#more-150647
It appears that the latest and current update for both Steam and GOG versions of the game, which is at version 1.0.157, completely destroys the in-game performance.
If you want to verify the current and prior versions yourself, you can head over to the Steam Database here: https://steamdb.info/app/1293160/patchnotes/
to have a look at the prior and current build versions and release dates of those patches there.
For the GOG version build of the game, it is already at version 1.0.157, and that you can view here: https://www.gogdb.org/product/1260828108#builds
Anyone were able to config a generic usb joystick?
que jogo ruim e chato e grafico lixo
New update is up! Can you release it?
I can’t play on dx12 . I tried to add -dx12 on the desktop shortcut of the game but still nothing. Game still working on dx11 . Do u guys know what to do ?
error ISdone.dll can anyone help me ?
I downloaded it yesterday but seems like their still a lot of bugs on this game, during the first part of the cinematics there are a lot of black boxes showing looks like a glitch or something and although out while playing so I stopped it instead.
@tekmarvl Yes,i do agreed with you about the split screen event it is pretty cool but shame, i thought this game was like Control (game) without fancy guns and only use psychic power,i do enjoyed using thomas because he seem like a rogue character but his power is also limited to use and the boss fight is not satisfying at all. Anyway I’m glad that I have this opportunity to try this game before purchasing it and I gotta say this game is not even worth it to be replay at least for me.
@Mendokusai_11,
Your recent comment and views about your own gaming experience with playing / trying out the game to see if you would enjoy it or not is well noted.
There are some elements of The Medium I did not quite like myself, and I will refer to it as the “Dead Pan Look” in the characters eyes for both Marianne and Thomas, as well as the timing of the lip sync of both characters when they speak during some cutscene events seems to be off and doesn’t sync up quite well with their lip movements.
I’ve read that the developers, Blloober Team, didn’t have much of a big budget to work with when designing and developing the game, and so the thought of using motion capture wasn’t an option that they could afford to use, which is why in many areas of the game, especially when you run or even in the cutscenes, character movement looks like a rag doll or someone pulling a marionette puppet”s strings to get some sort of a believable movement going for the character model, but falling short of a convincing and believable human like movement.
Anyways, if you are still interested in knowing what the whole story and ending of the game is all about, you can check out this YouTube video that it explains it all really well, cause I know that you mentioned earlier in one of your posts, that you did quite understand the premise and the entire story of the game seemed quite confusing.
This YouTube video titled: The Medium – Ending Explained, sums it all up nicely in 15 minutes and 15 seconds:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYziGjZ645M
Enjoy!
@tekmarvl
this video is very neat and comprehensible information,i able to understand the whole story thoroughly. Thank you sir.
@Mendokusai_11,
Yes, the YouTube video is pretty well put together and explains a lot about the story and ending. It is just too bad that the Development team behind the game, “Bloober Team” is small, and doesn’t really have that big of a budget to work with, but then again, if you consider how some of the biggest gaming industries and game development studios first started out before they became well known, and made a name for themselves like Naughty Dog, among others, they all started small before they grew big.
Still it is interesting to both see and know, that some game developers don’t just create games for the money, but have a deep passion for being creative and utilizing their talents, because some of these developers are also gamers who want to bring something different and unique to the rest of the gaming community to experience.
I truly respect game developers like that, even if they are just starting out, or have been around for quite some time.
Ok, but which version is this? I noticed GOG is a backward one. MS is currently 1.2.76.0
Wondering why still no updates…
@Dreus,
I made a post here roughly two days ago where I mentioned the current update versions of both the STEAM and GOG versions of the game and where it sits at, that hasn’t changed since.
Both the STEAM and GOG versions of the game are at: V1.0.157
You can refer to my post where I mentioned that earlier if you follow this heading from this thread:
::: THE MEDIUM ::: SOMETHING EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW AND CONSIDER BEFORE PLAYING :::
Patch Update V1.0.157 was released on: 2021-01-25 for both STEAM and GOG versions of the game.
Microsoft may be more up-to-date with their scheduled update patch releases that they receive from the developers, “Bloober Team”, than either STEAM or GOG are, which could explain why Microsoft is ahead in patch releases, while STEAM and GOG are a bit behind.
A Scene Release group like CODEX releases patch updates for games at their own sole discretion, as they are in the belief that if gamers really enjoy playing a game that they like, then they should support the developer by purchasing the game.
A lot of Scene Release groups pretty much follow this same code of conduct, and CODEX is about the only known scene release group that actually has been releasing update patches for games both past and present, among any other Scene Release groups out there, that are still currently active.
Hope that explains it well enough.
If by chance a newer patch update release does become available, the first place you will see it is on the main site under the Updates section, or listed on the actual page.
Not hard to miss at all, when updates for games become available on the site.
Also, GOG is known to update their patch releases for games as soon as it becomes available to them from the developer of the game, it’s just a matter of priority and time I guess when it comes to the different digital gaming platform retailers, and who gets what first.
very good sites
Language italian??
I changed language in steam_emu but game is always english…why??
thanks skid and codex and folks! 🙂
Hello guys and girls,
On Thomas’s hidden room (after the clock puzzle), I’m trying to develop the photo but the damn light machine just won’t illuminate the paper when turned on. Marienne keeps repeating that it needs more exposure, even after wainting for 5 secs. It happened before with Jack’s photo, but this time looks like I’m stuck. Did anyone else get this bug?
My gear: i5 7700 3.0 Ghz / GTX 1050Ti / 16GbRAM
I have mailed the developers, but I’m sure they’ll just tell me to fuck off and buy better gear.
the game stutter on my rtx 3090
it is stuttering on my rtx 3090
Is this version DELUXE EDITION?
Can you add which language there are in the game? thx
